Off trail ...
The Buffalo Peaks Wilderness will be the focus of the Arkansas Headwaters Wilderness Partner’s first season. This lesser-visited and lower altitude 43,410ac wilderness will likely be snow-free earlier than the others.

As the program expands AHWP will begin work in other wilderness areas within the San Isabel’s management responsibility: Collegiate Peaks, Mt Massive and part of Holy Cross.
